Have you considered establishing a vpn connection back to the network which hosts the database?

I am asking because we want to allow users to authenticate for our WIFI, but the user database is offsite on a cloud server. We have a piece of software that handles the transaction on the desktops, but we can’t use that software on everyone’s personal system, especially since there is no mobile app.

I wonder if your D/E: is instance store? Can you tell me what is the instance type that you have selected for this instance? If the drive in question is infact instance store then these are ephemeral drives so every time the server is stopped and started the drives will be wiped clean.

I hope this helps!

Xavier.

That was useful info. I have an AWS enterprise setup on Windows 2012 R2 in my company. We got all this up in the month of Jun 2016. Recently we are facing many issues on the drives. Whenever we restart an instance, the D: gets formatted or it gets converted to an E: with 100% data loss. The snapshots taken by robocop are also returning empty. Could you please provide us any pointers on this?

Santhya
